Welcome to our gallery of workshop images. Here you can see what’s on the workbench of our little Derbyshire workshop. This collection of various work in progress images has a purpose. It aims to show the effort invested in bringing our products to life. It is also a place to celebrate the uniqueness of handmade, artisan products.
The handmade difference
Lots of sellers claim to offer handmade items, but just how many are really locally handmade? We give give you all areas access to the creation process. Sometimes it can get a little untidy, please don’t judge us.
CNC and Laser Free
We don’t use any CNC (computer numerically controlled) routers or laser cutters, even for the smallest parts. We do use machines in our making process. However, we feel that CNC Routers or Laser cutters do not suit the Rustic Christmas Aesthetic. These machines are great at shaping parts consistently. They work quickly and many makers use them to great effect making intricate items. Unfortunately they do not impart the natural variations we celebrate at Rustic Christmas.
Not made by AI
In a world where it can be hard to even tell what is real. We stand for authenticity, real things made be real a real person with saws, chisels and sandpaper. Its a mini revolution against mass production and cheap labour. We are changing the world one Christmas ornament at a time, (well maybe). Better by Design
Our design aesthetic aims to capture the warmth and nostalgia of Christmas through modern, simplified forms. Traditional seasonal elements—such as animals, trees, and stars are distilled into clean lines. This approach allows their symbolism to remain instantly recognisable without visual clutter.
Restrained colour palettes and simplified forms helps us to create decorations that are contemporary and timeless. We blend familiar festive references with simplicity. We incorporate modern design principles. This aesthetic evokes the spirit of Christmas in a way that feels fresh and elegant. It is equally suited to tradition and modern christmas Themes.
